Chakra Wear Contest - Contest Rules

Hello Everyone!

Currently Chakra Wear is in the process of designing t-shirts
and accessories that coincide with precious gems and stones, creating
a unique clothing line. Our goal is to combine beautiful illustrations
with corresponding gems that will energize the body and mind by utilizing
the seven main chakras. Chakras can be energized using specific gems,
often occuring when those gems are close to or touching the body.

Chakra Wear is going to create a line of t-shirts that infuses
illustrations and gems on the shirt, allowing the person
who wears it to benefit directly from the energy of the gem.

As the website and t-shirts are all in the pre-production stages,
we are reaching out to the very artistic online community to assist
us in our design. More importantly, allowing *you* the artist
to render a design that may be worn by people all over the world!
We will be selecting winners from several different categories.
The winner of each category will receive the prize for that category.
All winners will have their illustrations displayed on the website
with credit given to them. Below are some basic rules and guidelines
that all illustrations must meet in order to qualify.

1. All illustrations must be on a white background.
2. All illustrations must have a central focus where a small gem
would be located. For example, a woman cupping her hands close
to the heart, where a small heart gem would be placed. Or a
tree where a gem could be placed at a branch or on the trunk.
3. Illustrations can be many different sizes, but keep in mind, the
winning designs will be printed on t-shirts. Resolution and quality
are important.
4. When submitting your design be sure to send us a title followed by
the category you're submitting it to.

Contest ends and winners will be picked on November 12, 2009.

Chakra Wear Contest - Contest Categories

Category 1 - Anahata (The Heart Chakra):

The Anahata chakra is physically positioned at the heart region.
Traditionally, this chakra is represented as a green flower with twelve petals
which match the vrittis of lust, fraud, indecision, repentance, hope, anxiety,
longing, impartiality, arrogance, incompetence, discrimination and defiance.
Anahata is associated with the ability to make decisions outside of the realm
of karma. In Manipura and below, man is bound by the laws of karma, and the fate
he has in store for him. In Anahata, one is making decisions, 'following your heart',
based upon one's higher self, and not from the unfulfilled emotions and desires of
lower nature. The Anahata seed sound is yam. The wish-fulfilling tree, kalpa taru,
resides here, symbolizing the ability to manifest whatever you wish to happen in
the world. It is also associated with love and compassion, charity to others,
and forms of psychic healing.

This illustration's focal point will be the heart region. The illustration should
draw attention to the heart area, where a small gem will be placed to energize
the heart chakra. Whether the image takes up an entire shirt or focus's on
the heart area is up to you. The above paragraph was just an idea of some
of the symbolism that is associated with this chakra but is by no means a
"boundary" for your illustration. Be creative, as the best illustration will
be voted on by 10 members of the Chakra Wearstaff and chosen as a featured
design.

Category 2 - Manipura (The Solar Plexus Chakra):

It is positioned at the navel region and it has ten petals which match the vrittis
of spiritual ignorance, thirst, jealousy, treachery, shame, fear, disgust, delusion,
foolishness and sadness. Manipura is associated with dynamism, energy, and will-power
(Itcha shakti.) It is associated with the power of fire, and digestion. Manipura is said
to radiate and distribute prana to the rest of the body.

This illustration's focal point will be the naval region. The illustration should
draw attention to the naval area, where a small gem will be placed to energize
the solar plexus chakra. Whether the image takes up an entire shirt or focus's
on just the navel area is up to you. The above paragraph was just an idea of some

Category 3 - Three Gem Design

This illustration will focus on one idea, that could range anywhere
from life, love, happiness, luck, relaxation, power, and on and on. When creating
your design, think about your one idea (for example, luck - an illustation would
focus on the idea of luck and allow 3 areas for a gem to be to located, drawing the
focus point to these three gems.) Gems representing your idea will be placed on the
shirt in your designated locations. The design can be abstract or exact in meaning.
There should be no words.

Category 4 - Best Slogan Design

This illustration will focus on a word, or group of words. These words must be
the focal point of your design, however illustration surrounding the word is allowed
and encouraged. The main idea behind this design is to create a small space in your
word where a gem will be placed.

Category 5 - Health & Rejuvination

This illustration will have a one gem focus on the idea of health & rejuvination.
There should be no words.

Category 6 - Wealth

This illustration will have a one gem focus on the idea of wealth. There should
be no words.

Category 7 - Relaxtion

This illustration will have a one gem focus on the idea of relaxation. There
should be no words.

Chakra Wear Contest - Other Contest Rules and Conditions

1. Chakra Wear reserves the right to change and update contest rules
at any time, disqualify any participant for any reason, and end or
elongate contest dates at any time.
2. By submitting your illustration in the contest you are allowing Chakra Wear
to use, adjust, and replicate it's likeness. Only winning designs will appear
on t-shirts.
3. By submitting your illustration you are accepting ownership of your design and
that no copyright laws were infringed in the creation of your illustration.
4. Chakra Wear is not responsible for any copyright infringement of participants.
5. By submitting your illustration you accept the rules and conditions of this
contest.
